Celtic-inspired woodburned decorative plate featuring a daffodil mandala

The daffodil—the inspiration for this wood-burned art piece—is the symbolic flower of Wales, a beautiful country steeped in Celtic lore. 

This personally designed hand drawing with a Celtic theme was drawn on paper, then traced onto an unfinished 11.5” diameter plate, and then painstakingly wood-burned. 

The drawing consists of a daffodil surrounded by intricate vine and leaf knotwork.

Two coats of a low-VOC varnish were applied to the finished plate to preserve the art and protect the plate.
